Apart from the focus issues, Jackson was still kind of enjoying this week. And that was probably sad, if you considered it more closely, since it stemmed so firmly from his issues with everything that had been going on with him lately. Sure, he still felt like his control was just about to snap, but it was still a better kind of feeling, because at least it was coming from within him.

Still, it left him feeling pretty restless, especially after dealing with seeing people in two classes. But he could always try and release some of that energy by lifting some weights in his room.

It was not his preferred method but it would do.

So after feeling like about to crawl out of her skin for the better part of the morning, Emily decided that maybe being pissed off was the best way to take her mind out of...other things. Of course, by now it was clear that Emily wasn't really thinking as straight as she thought she did.

Whatever witty and probably argument worthy phrase she had thought to say to Jackson was quickly forgotten by the time she saw him working out though. So here, have an speechless Emily at your door. Staring.

Stupid sexy working out.

It took Jackson a while to notice her. Once he did, he looked up, raising an eyebrow.

"Do you want something?"

Way to choose the most loaded question available, Jackson.

"Or are you just gawking for fun?"

"As a matter of a fact-" Emily said, but managed to stop herself, if only barely. She let her weight fall on the edge of the door comfortably.

"It is a nice view, I'm not complaining."

Jackson had a talent for both looking smug and unimpressed all at the same time.

Which was actually not all that surprising when you considered that those were his two main expressions, anyway.

"This isn't really a spectator sport."

As long as he didn't stop looking good Emily couldn't care less.

"And here I was going to start tossing out money," Emily replied as she shrugged.

He was not going to stop looking good, no.

Although he did roll his eyes. "You couldn't afford me, anyway," he snarked.

Korra's better judgement had apparently fled the building, because instead of doing the sensible thing and finding the nearest ice-floe, she was leaning in Jackson's doorway watching him. "Oh, yeah, I can definitely beat you at that."

Jackson looked up with a derisive snort.

"I doubt that."

Of course he did. Everything was a competition.

Without even thinking about why she was doing it, Korra lifted her arms up to flex the muscle. "I'm pretty strong."

"Yeah." He'd give her that. While possible not looking at her arms. Possibly. "But not as strong as me."

Korra was definitely checking out his muscle tone. "Nope, stronger." She was pretty sure he couldn't life up people one-handed.

Actually, he could.

But that meant reaching into the messed up part of him so he'd rather not.

He put the weight he'd been lifting on the floor. "Well, that's not even why you're here, is it?"

Korra put her hands on her hips. "I'm here because we have something to settle from yesterday." And the pollen had made her even more stubborn and headstrong than usual.

Sadly, Jackson was just pretty much the usual when it came to that. He had a pretty damaged psyche when it came to any kind of a challenge.

He straightened up, and stalked closer to her. "Hmm. I remember that."

"I'd be worried if you didn't." Korra drew herself up to her full height. "I think you had something to show me."

Jackson smirked. Smugly. That was how things worked around here. Also, he was moving into her personal space, yes. "And you think you can take it?"

Korra had noticed that, yes. "I know I can handle it. But can you handle me?"

Sadly that wasn't actually an attempt at innuendo.

Jackson snorted anyway. "That'd be even funnier," he said, idly reaching to put one hand on her hip, "if I was sure you knew what it sounds like you're saying."

It was a good thing for Korra's vague sense of composure that she was pollened, because otherwise that hand combined with realising what she'd said would probably have gotten her flailing. As it was, she ran her hand up along his arm because yes, touching the pretty seemed like a really good idea right now.

"What makes you so sure I don't." Probably the fact she hadn't.

"So what did it sound like?"

Ah, the straightforward approach. He watched her, even as he used his free hand to reach past her and push the door closed.

"Hm?"

"Like you're talking too much" Even if she wasn't entirely sure what she was saying, she was pretty sure he had better things to do with his stupid, smirky mouth than talk.

Jackson smirked some more. And leaned a little closer.

"So why aren't you doing something about that? Since you're so convinced you can take me."

"Fine. I will then." And since his stupid smirky mouth was right there, it totally made sense to lean in just that little bit further.

Perfect sense! And Jackson, well, he was one of the least coy people she was likely to meet, so he hesitated exactly not at all in kissing her.

The same thing went for using the hand on her hip to draw her closer to him.

The pulling closer was...unexpected but not unpleasant (and there was no possible way this could end as awkwardly as the last time she tried this) so she kept pushing forward into the kiss.

That whole part where she was kind of competitive might have helped there.
